Hi all –

Wednesday’s class will take place in Room 508 of Goodell Hall with Candice Serafino of Career Services. I will not be there but she will take attendance. Candice will talk to you about how to find internships on the eRecruiting database.

YOUR ASSIGNMENT: Conduct a search on the internship database and come up with three possibilities for internships you would like to do.

Hello and Welcome to the fun-filled world of journalism! I’m hoping this class is the start of a long, rewarding journey for you into an exciting, ever-changing field.

Sports Concentration Opportunity

Are you a sophomore interested in a career in Sports Journalism? If so, the UMass Journalism Program has a huge opportunity for you.

We have proposed a special Concentration in Sports Journalism* to begin this Fall that will include four courses and an internship. Courses will cover beat writing, blogging, column writing, multimedia, sports photography and more.

If you’re interested, please contact Professor Steve Fox (stevejfox@gmail.com), who will serve as the coordinator of the program. There will be an application process in order to take the first course this Fall, so the earlier you get started the better.

*The concentration is pending approval from the Faculty Senate.
